12 month fixed term or secondment opportunity
Public Health Scotland is a new organisation, set up to provide system leadership, working with stakeholders across to Scotland to tackle the health inequalities that persist in many of our communities. It’s an exciting time to join the organisation, with PHS at the forefront of Scotland’s efforts to tackle Coronavirus and its implications across society.
We are looking for a Head of Digital Strategy & Product Development to lead the development and implementation of Public Health Scotland’s digital and data strategy, oversee key governance functions including information governance and data protection, and lead major national programmes to develop and deliver data and digital products.
You will be joining a new senior team, working to effect change to improve outcomes for people in communities and to develop and enable a Public Health Scotland culture with a focus on impact and solutions.
You will be a very experienced manager who has already worked at a senior level within a large, complex organisation. You will have a track record of working with boards and delivering and embedding real change within an organisation and across organisational boundaries. You will have vision and imagination and will be change, action and results oriented.
The post-holder should have expert specialist knowledge in the delivery of data and digital services acquired through degree level education, with an appropriate, relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience.
The post will report directly to the Director of Data and Digital Innovation.

The post is based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Meridian Court, Glasgow, though the successful candidate will largely be working from home initially. Applicants on any working pattern are welcome to apply for this post though it will be important that the candidate is able to attend Board meetings and Committees.
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service
