The Glasgow Clinical Research facility (GCRF) incorporates Clinical Research Facilities at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Jointly they provide a streamlined service to investigators from study start-up to archiving in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. 

We are recruiting a motivated, organised and enthusiastic Project Assistant who as part of a multidisciplinary team will provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to Investigators and members of the research team. The post holder will work closely with the Quality team and Research Nurse Manager to assist the study team in providing specialist research to research participants and regularly work unsupervised throughout various locations/GCRF sites.

The post holder will:

  • Provide a dedicated, professional project assistant service to research personnel to support to the management of the project outcomes.
  • Effectively co-ordinate specified components of research projects utilising time management and organisational skills.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will provide project specific technical support for patients or healthy volunteers in a range of research protocols and will regularly work unsupervised.
  • Contribute to the provision of a high quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for patients within the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (G).
  • Co-ordinate and effectively manage identified components to ensure appropriate resources are in place to support projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years clerical/administration experience or recognized qualification in administration
  • Previous relevant NHS or other relevant experience in a care environment.
  • Ability to use MS Outlook and applications proficiently
  • Effective written and verbal communication /literacy/numeracy skills
  • Evidence of team working skills with an ability to work using own initiative.
  • Ability to carry out complex technical tasks in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work travel across hospital sites in NHS GGC.
