A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospital Wishaw for an enthusiastic and highly motivated static Band 6 Physiotherapist, to join our team within the Surgical and Adult Critical Care Units.

This post covers ITU, HDU and General Surgery patients including Breast Surgery patients. You will also be a member of the team who specialises in the assessment and rehabilitation of out patient amputees within the Wishaw catchment area of NHSL. You will be responsible for assisting with on call training and ongoing support of Band 5 staff as well as student clinical education. You will report directly to the Band 7 Physiotherapist within the Surgical Specialty, assisting with the continued development of the service.


  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at degree level
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
