This new position will involve responsibility for leading and managing the day-to-day psychological therapies service to SDAS service users, carers, referral agencies, SDAS staff across the region of Dumfries and Galloway.  The postholder will assess service needs within this context and formulate and deliver responsive, psychological interventions at individual and systemic levels. 

The postholder will supervise psychological therapy staff in the specified area and manage aspects of their work as directed by the Head of Adult Mental Health and in consultation with management staff in SDAS; plan, facilitate and evaluate service and policy developments within the area as well as within the wider department.

Dumfries & Galloway is situated in the South West of Scotland and the department has a complement of around 80 staff, with Clinical Psychologists in all major specialities and it is a friendly, supportive and lively place to work.  We have strong links with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling Universities and take trainees from both Clinical Psychology and Masters courses. We also provide placements and supervision for CBT Therapists.

The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time. ​​​​​​​
