The core vision of SNBTS is to build on our strong foundation as a trusted partner, anticipating the needs of the people of Scotland by expanding our range of life-giving blood products, tissues and innovative advanced therapies, in order to transform lives. SNBTS is the vital connection linking Scotland’s donors to patients in need.  As an integral part of National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHSScotland, we deliver excellence by understanding and responding to the changing needs of our stakeholders.

The Medical Director will play a key role in ensuring effective and productive relationships with key external stakeholders including NHSScotland colleagues, Scottish Government, UK Blood Services and other professional bodies.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
