Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly skilled and experienced Reporting Radiographer to join the GJUNH Radiology Team as an Advanced Practitioner.

The GJUNH provides essential waiting times imaging for all Health Boards in NHS Scotland, along with specialist imaging services such as the West of Scotland Cardiothoracic Centre and is a centre of excellence for Orthopaedic surgery.  Radiology currently has 4 MRI Scanners, 2 CT scanners 5 Cardiac Cath Labs, 3 plain film rooms, 1 Dexa Scanner, 1 dual purpose Imaging/Fluoroscopy room, as well as numerous Image Intensifiers and mobile units.  GJNH always strives to be at the forefront of new development and as such, will be expanding our plain film provision to include two additional x-ray rooms within a bespoke Orthopaedic expansion.

Plain film activity is in excess of 83,000 exams per year and includes a range of examinations and referral sources, such as via Orthopaedic clinics and GP referral.  All MSK images are reported by our Advanced Practitioner Radiographers and as such, the clinical commitment in this role is minimal and can be negotiated with the right candidate.  The variety and complexity of Orthopaedic surgeries carried out at this institution is vast and provides an exciting and diverse portfolio of work for the Reporting Radiographer.  Participation in national imaging networks is actively supported, as is attendance at MDT meetings and maintaining high standards of CPD befitting the role.  The sharing of expert knowledge and skills via teaching and audit is keenly encouraged.  There are opportunities for further role development within this post and there is a flexible approach around hours of work.
