NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations. 

The Scotland Deanery is responsible for postgraduate medical education. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology team warmly seek a new Training Programme Director to join a dynamic senior team.

The Training Programme Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology will be responsible for managing specialty training programmes for doctors holding the following appointments: specialty registrar (StR); and locum appointments for training (LATs). 

Applications are invited from trained doctors in the North of Scotland who are in a substantive NHS or University post. All applicants must confirm prior to interview that their employer would support a Service Level Agreement for this role within their job plan.

The TPD should be a Consultant and is accountable to the Associate Dean in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the South East.  They may also combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor.
