NHS Golden Jubilee is the home to the West of Scotland Regional Heart and Lung Centre and has an extensive Orthopaedic Surgery Programme. Pharmacy technicians are an integral part of the pharmacy team, working with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective and person centred use of medicines. NHS Golden Jubilee have an exciting opportunity for you to train to be a pharmacy technician. You may rotate through various areas of pharmacy which could include primary care and hospital pharmacy. This is a rotational 2 year fixed term post which offers experience in all aspects of pharmacy.
You will be involved with the supply and management of medication, medication reviews, dispensing services, distribution and ward services.
You will be supported in attaining your SVQ in Pharmacy Service at level 8 and a PDA in Pharmacy Services at level 7. You will also complete a comprehensive in-house training package all of which are required in order to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Previous pharmacy experience would be an advantage but full training will be provided.
Applicants must have as a minimum:
- National 5 qualifications (or Intermediate 2 or Credit Standard Grades) at Grade A to C in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and English/ESOL OR the equivalent SCQF level of qualification/award
In accordance with AFC Terms and Conditions you will be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day. Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
