We have an exciting leadership opportunity within Older People’s Mental Health for registered Mental Health Nurse practitioner or Occupational Therapist to manage and lead the Community Mental Health Services for Older People in Montrose/Brechin and the Angus Post Diagnostic Dementia Service.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, developing and leading joint multi agency teams, will be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to the care of Older People with Mental Health Problems and a willingness to respond positively to change. 


The successful candidate should have extensive post qualifying experience and experience working with older people with mental health problems, be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or Health Professions Council, community experience is also essential.  The ideal candidate needs to have excellent communication and negotiation skills and a commitment to continuous professional and service development. You should be able to demonstrate your ability to practice autonomously, with regard to risk, safety and management of crisis and promote a recovery focussed service.  You should have a working knowledge and understanding of the national and local agenda for older people and a sound knowledge base of mental health and well being of older adults, relevant legislation and evidence based treatments and interventions.  You must be able to access clients/teams across the catchment area on a daily basis.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, dependant upon service need initially - the CMHT’s/PDDS may develop into a 7 day service within extended working hours in the future.  This post may be rotational across other areas of Older People’s Mental Health as required by service need.
