Job Advert

Applications are sought for enthusiastic candidates with experience in Old Age Psychiatry with Full GMC Registration, a licence to practice and at least 4 Years full time Post Graduate Training, two of which must have been within a Specialty Training programme in psychiatry or evidence of equivalent experience and competencies; ideally with previous experience of working in Old Age Psychiatry. Section 22 approval is desirable.

We invite applicants to apply for this Older Adult Liaison 6 session post. It is anticipated that the job will be mostly based in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow but depending on service need across Glasgow Old Age liaison, the post holder could work in hospital liaison across Glasgow sites and provide support to the three consultants and other members of the Liaison Team. This would be discussed through a job plan process. There is office accommodation at The Glenkirk Centre, Drumchapel, Glasgow.

The clinical work is varied and will include general hospital assessment and management of older people with mental health needs, attendance at case conferences and the provision of support and advice to other professionals within acute hospital. The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital has a dedicated delirium/dementia ward with joint DME and psychiatry input and the post holder would be able to input into this team and gain novel experience of this way of working.

Informal enquiries may be made to Lead Clinician Dr Matthew Sheridan on 0141 232 1305 or Dr Ashley Fergie Clinical Director on 0141 211 6429
