The Nutrition and Clinical Dietetic Service is a Fife wide service providing nutritional and dietetic care to children and adults in both hospital and community settings. The service is currently arranged into 8 clinical teams: Acute, Adult Weight Management & Child healthy Weight, Diabetes, Mental Health & learning Disabilities, Nutrition Support , Older People and Infant Nutrition & Pediatrics. Each team has a Clinical lead Dietitian. In addition we have Dietitians working within Health Promotion Food and Health service. 

We are looking for either 2 x 0.5 or 1.0 WTE dietitian(s) with a passion for the profession and experience in eating disorders and other areas of children and adolescent mental health. To work with both the multidisciplinary professions within NHS Fife’s CAHMS service and within the friendly and dynamic Nutrition and Clinical Dietetic department. 

The Dietetic department takes both undergraduate and graduate Dietetic students for B & C programmes each year; involving staff in the delivery and organisation of the programmes. The department runs regular department training sessions and supports staff in their continuing professional development. The department has good clerical support, IT, internet and library facilities. 

Registered with HCPC, you will have the skills, competencies and experience appropriate for the post.

Job Purpose: 
This is a new permanent post to expand the current Dietetic service of 0.6 WTE. To work with existing post holder to develop and provide a comprehensive Dietetic service for eating disorders and other mental health conditions. To work with the multidisciplinary professions and teams within the community based CAHMS service.

This post will also be part of a team of 9 mental health and learning disabilities dietitians. You will provide a Dietetic service to specialist clinics, out-patients, domiciliary visits to patient’s homes as appropriate. Other clinical areas for the mental health and learning disabilities team are to support patients requiring artificial nutrition, oral nutritional supplementation, weight management, physical health, texture modification, dietary assessments and review of patients’ nutritional status.  

Working Areas/Caseload: 
You will be based with the CAHMS service with close links to the mental health and learning disabilities team. Travel will be required throughout all areas of Fife.
