Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland, with responsibility of developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland.

The Medical Directorate is responsible to the NES Board and through the Board to Scottish Government for the commissioning and delivery of postgraduate medical education in Scotland.

The Quality Improvement Team, as part of the Medical Directorate, is responsible for the development and delivery of quality improvement (QI) training and development across the Scottish Public Sector, and provision of organisational improvement support.

What you'll do

We are looking to appoint a Specialist Educator to support internal improvement work, through the application of quality improvement (QI) and project management and supporting the delivery of QI training.

Working as part of a team you will play a critical role in managing and supporting internal improvement initiatives, contributing to the delivery of the NES strategic plan. You will also collaborate with the wider QI team in the delivery of quality improvement development programmes.

Key tasks will include but will not be limited to: 

  • Management of a range of themed workstreams as part of the internal improvement work programme
  • Use of improvement methodology to support internal improvement projects
  • Contribute to the delivery of QI content on programmes to a range of audiences in a range of settings
  • Communicating with key stakeholders, which will include the writing of briefs and reports and project progress updates
