Edinburgh or Glasgow – hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future

An opportunity has arisen to join the Transformational Redesign Unit which forms part of the Improvement Hub (ihub) within Healthcare Improvement Scotland. The ihub supports Health and Social Care Partnerships with complex, system-wide change in order to improve outcomes for the people of Scotland. We are recruiting to a Public Involvement Advisor role, which is an operational position within the Pathways to Recovery programme aiming to build on the recommendations made by the Residential Rehabilitation Working Group. Sitting within a portfolio of work that supports housing, homelessness and healthcare to be better connected, this is a critical time to join our work.

We are looking for a person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills which reflect the person-centred ethos of the ihub as well as the ability to connect with a wide range of stakeholders.

To deliver this programme we are looking for motivated individuals with a passion for improvement and engagement, committed to delivering what adds value locally – informed by those who use services and those who deliver them. This programme requires significant levels of close working with specialist health services as well as the wider health and social care system, so a proven track record of working across different professions alongside people with lived/living experience of using services is critical. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills and experience in involving people meaningfully in health or social care decision-making throughout their work.

Candidates are required to be educated to degree level or have equivalent knowledge and experience in improving services in health and social care or involving people in the design and delivery of services. It is essential you that you have strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will be required to connect people across the system to deliver projects.

Further information about the role is available from Lawrence Pavia, Senior Improvement Advisor for the Pathways to Recovery Programme (lawrence.pavia@nhs.scot).

Closing date: Tuesday 12 July 2022 at midnight.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held on 28 July 2022 via MS Teams.
