Newborn Hearing Screener - Raigmore Hospital
Band 4 - £23,709 - £25,982 per annum
Fixed Term Post for 1 Year - 37.5 Hours Per Week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide cover for the above post within the Audiology Department based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
Newborn Hearing Screening is offered to every baby born and the service is provided seven days a week when hearing tests are carried out at Raigmore Hospital on the maternity wards and in the special care baby unit (SCBU). Experience is desirable, however full training in hearing screening can be provided, along with associated IT skills specific to the role.
No formal qualifications are required but experience of handling small babies, working face to face with people and basic IT/computer skills will be beneficial. Prior experience in associated fields (e.g. childcare) are welcome. Flexible working, excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are key qualities required by the successful applicants.
There is a requirement to work weekends when typically one of the weekday hours would be swapped out to provide 7.5 hours cover over a Saturday and Sunday, 1 weekend in 8. A flexible approach to working hours to meet service demand is necessary.
