Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to work within the Physiotherapy team based at Belford Hospital and Fort William Health Centre.

You will take responsibility for a designated clinical caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge from care. You will work within multi-professional integrated teams to ensure co-ordinated care for patients and carers. You will also be required to delegate tasks to Health Care Support Workers and occasionally support students on clinical placement.

You should have a degree or diploma in Physiotherapy along with current HCPC registration and full driving license with a car available for use during working hours. Treatment of patients can take place during an inpatient stay, whilst attending an outpatient clinic or exercise class or within the patient’s own home or community setting.

There is a local population of approximately 20,000 in Lochaber District spread over a large geographical area of 2000sq miles.  Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glencoe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles.

Fort William is considered the outdoor capital of the UK. It is a centre for hill walking and climbing due to its proximity to Ben Nevis and many other Munros. It is also well known for its nearby downhill mountain bike track and skiing and is the start/end of both the West Highland Way (Milngavie–Fort William) and the Great Glen Way (a walk/cycle way Fort William–Inverness).
