37.5 PER WEEK, PERMANENT

BAND 7: £40,872 to £47,846

There is an exciting opportunity to join the cardiology department at NHS Highland as a lead specialist in Echocardiography. We have a large and expanding multidisciplinary team consisting of 15 Cardiac Physiologists, 11 Cardiographers, 1 Associate Practitioner, 15 Cardiology Nurse Specialists and 6 Consultant Cardiologists.

We provide a range of diagnostic investigations, including transoesophageal, transthoracic and paediatric echocardiography, Physiologist led aortic valve clinics, Exercise tolerance testing, ambulatory monitoring and tilt testing. We also provide interventional angiography as well as simple and complex device implantation and follow up. We have a Physiologist led ILR implant service and we are looking to expand our Physiologist led services as well as introduce new services to expand our range of diagnostic activity.

We provide diagnostic clinics across the whole of the Highlands and the successful applicant would take part in providing these clinics in other centres across NHS Highland.

We are passionate about professional and personal development and the successful applicant would be actively involved in supporting training and development of junior staff and students to achieve national accreditation.

Applicants should have a relevant degree and full BSE adult transthoracic accreditation or equivalent. The department would also consider newly qualified / inexperienced echocardiographers who are currently working towards BSE accreditation, where the department would support you in completing your training. We will also consider suitable applicants that might be looking for part-time or flexible working hours.

A competitive relocation package is available for the successful applicant.
