An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CSW Band 3 within the Combined Assessment Unit.

The Clinical Support Worker role within CAU is wide and varied and can change throughout a shift. In collaboration with the shift coordinator and Senior Charge Nurse, the post holder will be able to adjust to the requirements of five very different care areas based on competence level, these are High and Medium Risk Initial assessment, Same Day Emergency Care, In-patient Area and Point of Care Testing Facility.

You must understand the different streams of care, and adapt to the different needs of the patients in these streams.

You must be able to prioritise your workload and work autonomously to achieve the shift requirements.

You must adhere to Safe Operating Procedures for existing processes incorporating Infection Control and Health & Safety requirements.

CAU has a large patient group and you must be supportive to the needs of the team 

Essential criteria for a Band 3 within CAU includes competence, willingness to work towards or appropriate previous experience with similar skills to the following:


•          Cannulation and Venepuncture

•          Performing ECG

•          Performing blood glucose monitoring

•          Undertaking vital sign monitoring

•          Point of Care (POC) swab testing and processing


Various hours are available, fixed-term for 12 months.
