Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Band 7 - Salary Range £40,872- £47,846 per annum
Plus Distant Island Allowance of £1,971 per annum
Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available
This is an exciting time to join NHS Shetland as the new Clinical Governance and Risk Team Leader. The Clinical Governance and Risk Team Leader plays a key role within the clinical governance, patient safety, risk management and quality improvement functions of the Board.
As the Clinical Governance and Risk Team Leader, you will be responsible for the provision of leadership to the Clinical Governance & Risk agenda ensuring that appropriate systems which support governance, care assurance, and the identification and control of risks are in place across the organisation.
Managing the Clinical Governance and Risk Team you will work collaboratively with other departments eg Information and Health and Safety to enhance governance processes across the organisation.
The Clinical Governance and Risk Team Leader also plays a key role organisationally in supporting the development of a quality improvement ethos and promotes learning from all adverse events/ debriefs/ case reviews etc.
Applicants should be a Healthcare Professional with current professional registration, educated to first degree level, with evidence of Masters level study being desirable.
You should have significant experience of using quality improvement methodology to redesign clinical pathways, ideally being qualified to SCiL level. A working knowledge of current national policy in relation to risk, clinical governance, and adverse event reporting issues for NHS Scotland is essential.
As an experienced Team Leader, you will also be an excellent communicator, with good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to support and manage change. A high level of digital literacy skills are also necessary. Being a car driver is also an essential requirement of this post.
