NHS National Services Scotland

National Services Scotland (NSS) is a national NHS Board operating right at the heart of NHS Scotland with responsibility for the provision of a wide range of services which enable NHS Scotland Health Boards to deliver both clinical and non-clinical services in an efficient and effective manner. Their aim is to deliver high quality, effective and person-centric services on a national scale using best-in-class systems and standards to serve the people of Scotland.

To meet the increasing demand of customers, they're looking to recruit a number of Solutions Architects to join the team.

The Team
The NSS Digital and Security business unit aims to provide world class digital and security expertise, solutions and services - through the use of cutting-edge technology - to customers across national scale projects, programmes and initiatives.

The Role
This is an exciting time to join NHS NSS. There are significant programmes underway to redefine a number of vital national systems that will have massive impact across the provision of services to the people of Scotland. The Solutions Architects will work in partnership with a variety of stakeholders to ensure a consistent, robust and professional approach to architecture and design. You'll be heavily involved in solutions architecture and design activities as part of multi-disciplinary project delivery teams. You'll have a direct, visible, and tangible impact on national scale programmes as well as digital, data and technology solutions within NSS.

The Candidate

In order to be successful in your application, you should show:

Degree level (or equivalent) education in a technology related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent experience of solutions architecture

Depth of experience leading the solutions architecture and design activity for major programmes

The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as the ability to drive technology solutions through to successful implementation and delivery

Broad understanding of solutions architecture methodologies and principles

A track record of leading the delivery of technology solutions across a variety of systems (encompassing applications, data, integration, security and infrastructure)

The NHS has never been more valuable to the people of Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity to define digital, data and technology solutions and play a key role in the delivery of large scale, national programmes. In addition to the opportunity to have a lasting, tangible impact you'll receive a fantastic benefits package (including a market leading pension provision), a generous flexible working policy and opportunities for progression.
