The Breast Service at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary would like to invite candidates to apply for a fixed term Breast Service Speciality Doctor vacancy that has arisen.
The inpatient service provides care for residents of NHS Grampian, NHS Orkney and NHS Shetland; it also delivers highly complex tertiary surgical care for a small number of patients referred from NHS Highland and Tayside. There are around 480 new Breast cancers treated each year. All associated specialties including the Breast Screening Centre, Plastic Surgery and the regional Clinical Genetics Service are located on site.
Successful candidates will join a strong team of five Consultant Breast Surgeons, General Surgeons and Professorial staff who contribute to the service. It is an exciting time for the service as it will also be moving, with other Women’s Services, into a new purpose built hospital, the Baird Family Hospital in 2020. Planning is underway and there will be opportunities to be involved in re-shaping the service in preparation for the move.
You must have at least three years experience in Breast Services or related field and hold full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org.
