Part-time working options may also considered

Band 6 – Salary Range - £33,072 - £40,736 per annum (pro rata for part time posts)

Plus Distant Island Allowance of £1,971 per annum (pro rata for part time posts)

A Relocation Assistance of up to £1,000 is available depending on start date


An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Psychological Therapist, fixed term contract, within the Psychological Therapies Primary Care Team in NHS Shetland.


The successful applicant will also work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team alongside GPs and Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) colleagues to provide assessment and treatment to a wide range of adult clients with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. There is also an opportunity to contribute to new and innovative ways of delivering services.


You will need a degree and a Psychological Therapy qualification and accreditation with a relevant professional body, together with good ICT and communication skills. In addition, you will need a minimum of two year’s post qualifying experience and one year working in a multi-disciplinary team setting. Experience of working in a remote and rural location would be desirable.


Remote working from the UK mainland will be considered. If this is the case, Distant Islands Allowance and Relocation assistance is not applicable.
