This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to take up a strategic leadership role in a high-profile programme of work at national level. The work will focus on expanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing capacity in the workforce by delivering education and training. This will include work delivered in relation to Parenting and Infant Mental Health, and a related programme of work in support of children’s mental health and wellbeing.

You will be an innovative and highly motivated clinical psychologist (qualified to Doctoral level or equivalent), registered with the Health Care Professions Council, and with considerable experience of working in Children’s services. You will have expert knowledge and experience in relevant evidence based psychological early interventions for children and young people’s mental health, including parenting and infant mental health interventions, and have significant experience of clinical practice, teaching / training, and membership of high-level strategic planning groups. Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential, as is engagement in partnership working with a range of stakeholders. In addition, the post-holder will be committed to multi-professional and inter-agency approaches to education and healthcare and will be able to demonstrate flexibility and high-level diplomacy skills. You should demonstrate a proven ability to support others in a rapidly changing environment as well as delivering high level leadership and research skills.

This post will be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh and regular travel throughout Scotland may be required due to the nature of the post. Applicants who wish to apply on a secondment basis are strongly encouraged to discuss this with their current employer at the earliest opportunity.
