The post: 

The core purpose of the Digital & Security organisation is the provision of world class Digital and Security expertise, solutions and services to our customers, which include NSS, NHS Boards, Scottish Government and the wider Public Sector in Scotland.
The National Clinical Informatics Service for Scotland is involved in Clinical Safety Assurance of Health IT; Software as a Medical Device; Health & Care Analytics; Clinical Terminologies; Digital Health & Care Solutions; Clinical Data & Information; Research & Innovation; and Training & Events.

The candidate:

Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Strategy makes a commitment to develop and embed a standards based approach to clinical and care safety cases for all major systems. With the resulting increased demand for clinical assurance on a range of new IT solutions, an exciting opportunity has been created to strengthen our Clinical Informatics Team. As a Clinical Safety Engineer you will play a critical role in enhancing the clinical safety of a range of IT solutions being developed/supported by the Digital & Security Business Unit. 

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Location and working pattern:

 Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week in Various locations within Scotland
