Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the operational team at NHS Golden Jubilee. You will be joining an expanding organisation with our new elective surgical centre opening in 2023. This will double our elective orthopaedic capacity and increase our general surgical and Endoscopy capacity.

We are looking for an ambitious, decisive and driven Deputy Director of National elective Services to support the Director of National Elective Services in delivering Golden Jubilee’s National Hospital elective services.

You will be an integral member of the team working closely with the Clinical Staff in the development of effective multidisciplinary services and ensuring the supportive and responsive day-to-day operational management of the Division.

In addition, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of a full range of performance targets as defined by the Board. The post holder will also provide strong and visible leadership to the operational management team, planning and effectively implementing processes and pathways to maximise capacity and resources across the services. This position also has an outward facing role, working collaboratively with both operational and clinical teams from boards across Scotland to deliver person centred care as part of the NHS Golden Jubilee’s role as a national resource to support NHS Scotland wide recovery.

You will have strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels in the development of effective multidisciplinary services.

You will be educated to Masters level or equivalent and be able to demonstrate extensive professional and managerial experience.  A track record of success in a senior leadership role within a complex environment and the personal credibility and interpersonal skills to lead and deliver in this demanding role are essential.
