We are seeking a highly motivated nurse who can demonstrate evidence of personal and professional development to join our Public Protection Team.

You will be educated to degree level with a specialist Post Graduate Qualification in Child / Adult Protection or you must be prepared to undertake this. You will be self-directed and able to prioritise your workload and have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with our partner agencies including police, social work and education. You should be able to demonstrate the use of evidence based practice in your work and have a good understanding of quality improvement methodology.
    
The role will include rota cover for the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) for the purpose of participation in Interagency Referral Discussions (IRD’s) for children and adults deemed at immediate risk of harm. In addition, you will provide specialist support and advice on complex issues to all disciplines within NHS Dumfries and Galloway and work with the Public Protection Team and multiagency colleagues to prepare and deliver Public Protection training. Your remit will include provision of supervision to NHS staff to support them in meeting their responsibilities in the protection of children and adults in line with policy and practice guidelines. Additionally you will represent the public protection team at multiagency meetings relating to public protection practice and contribute to the single and multiagency development of public protection policies and guidance.  The post holder will be required to work under minimum supervision after a period of mentorship and have close working links with other staff within the NHS and with the wider multiagency team.
