NHS Golden Jubilee is a Centre of Excellence known for its Innovation and Research Centres.  It is home to the National Waiting Times Centre and West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre. A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and highly competent Radiology Information Systems / Picture Archiving & Communications Systems (RIS/PACS) Manager to join our team, to lead the delivery of Radiology IT systems.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with extensive proven experience in this field, including specialist knowledge of IT systems such as PACS, RIS and Image Exchange Portal (IEP). As the RIS/ PACS manager, you will be responsible for management and development of the IT systems supported by this post, maintaining effective service delivery, while responding to evolving clinical and non-clinical service needs. The post holder will be an expert in all issues relating to and affecting PACS and associated clinical systems. They will lead on projects to support service development and quality improvement, alongside the training and development of clinical and non-clinical staff in relation to RIS/PACS.

The post holder will work in tandem with the eHealth and Radiology teams to ensure that clinical images are available where required for patient management, diagnosis and treatment and will involve regular constructive liaison with all clinical teams and departments. The RIS/ PACS manager will also work in conjunction with Third party suppliers to ensure cross skilling and appropriate monitoring are in place, to ensure optimum performance of the systems. This position is critical in maintaining operational flow, maintenance and the development of services and systems within the scope of the role. National roles include membership to the National PACS forum and National RIS mangers forum, to share knowledge of the current Scottish PACS and RIS landscapes including associated current and potential programmes/projects.
