The Emergency Department at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People has an excellent reputation for research. In order to coordinate and support the expanding portfolio of research, audit and service improvement, the Emergency Medicine Research Group Edinburgh (EMERGE) was formed in 2008 and continues to grow.
We are currently recruiting a Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) to support a range of research projects. The post will involve recruitment activities such as venepuncture, sample processing, storage and shipment, assisting with the care of research participants, and collecting and managing research data. The scope of studies and projects is expanding, creating an exciting and leading research specialty to work within.
We are looking for an enthusiastic CTA with a genuine interest in clinical research. The successful candidate will need to understand the dynamic and challenging environment of the paediatric ED and how that translates to research activity. The post holder will work alongside other senior research nurses and will be supported by the EMERGE paediatric team.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
