Stock Management Project Manager

About the Organisation:
National Services Scotland (NSS) is a national NHS Board operating right at the heart of NHSScotland (NHSS) providing support and advice at a strategic and operational level.  NSS supports NHSS to deliver their services more efficiently and effectively and we offer shared services on a national scale using best-in-class systems and standards. Our priority is always the same – to improve the health and well-being of the people of Scotland. We do this by working in partnership with colleagues across Health and Social Care to deliver fit for purpose solutions and systems, delivering high quality services that help our stakeholders to free up resources so they can be re-invested into essential services.

The post:
The NHS Scotland Scan for Safety (SfS) Programme was established by NHS National Services Scotland in 2021, following approval of the programme business case by the Health and Social Care Management Board (HSCMB). The drivers for change are to increase traceability and recall ability for medical devices used in acute care, as well as regulatory drivers such as the Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Review (IMMDS) and the Medicines and Medical Devices Act 2021 (MMDA) which resulted in a UK-wide commitment to establish a UK Medical Device Information System (MDIS). During 2022 a legislative requirement for all UK health and care providers will be established for them to collect data relating to the devices that are used in patient care, with the initial focus being on implantable devices. This is a high-profile Programme involving engagement at all levels across NHS Scotland.

The Stock Management Project Manager will join an established team with a passion for transforming services to improve healthcare for citizens in Scotland. The role is critical to shaping the future of healthcare delivery across Scotland and will be a key contributor to shaping the delivery of this wide ranging programme of transformational change.   The Stock Management Project Manager is responsible for the project management and implementation of the national Inventory Management System within the Scan for Safety Programme to support its strategic direction through the delivery of Point of Care scanning and data capture to drive synergies and efficiencies across the Programme’s main operating areas.

You will have an enthusiastic approach, excellent organisation and communication skills and be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience.  You should have significant experience working in healthcare at a senior level, including experience of leading change initiatives within your area of expertise.

You must be able to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams and have ability to quickly establish your credibility with customers and staff at all levels. Knowledge and experience of the NHS would be highly advantageous.
