The Mental Health Bed Manager within Renfrewshire Mental Health Service is a pivotal role working as an autonomous practitioner within agreed protocols and requires to be responsive to ever changing needs of service. The post holder requires to have wide knowledge of Identified Sector area including, bed numbers, bed availability and Delayed Discharges and also have a working knowledge of other areas within GG&C should you be required to cover for other Bed Managers. The post holder will be required to work in partnership with: Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinicians, and Social services, Voluntary Organisations, Service Managers, Partnership Colleagues, Users of Mental Health Services and Carers, Other Trusts throughout country. The post holder requires a wide knowledge of the discharge planning process for inpatients and is able to work with the persons named above in managing length of stays of admission to mental health inpatient wards as well as facilitating admissions with the Intensive Home Treatment Team. The post involves travel around the GG&C area.
