Job Advert

We are seeking a motivated and experienced physiotherapist to join our well established and forward thinking team at an exciting time in the redesign and development of physiotherapy services for children throughout Scotland.
Are you flexible, able to prioritise and have a good understanding of time management?  Do you appreciate the importance of ongoing service development and would welcome the opportunity to work independently, whilst still being part of a team?

We provide therapy and support to children and families across the large, rural region of Dumfries and Galloway  The service is delivered in a variety of ways from consultation and advice to specific assessment and tailored interventions and this post will include clinic based work as well as work in community settings such as homes, schools and nurseries.  With close working relationships with colleagues in health and education and we are able ensure that our children and families experience multi agency practice.

Reflecting the geography of the area we cover we work out of different venues accross the region. Our main base is at The Willows, a purposely redesigned multi disciplinary Children and Family’s Centre, set in the beautiful Crichton grounds and we currently have office spaces in Newton Stewart and Stranraer.  Although based at the Willows this post will provide support and cover in the west as well as towards the more central part of the region.

We are committed to providing excellent support to our staff, encouraging personal and professional development as well as being proactive and forward thinking in terms of service development.  The person we seek will have the transferable skills and knowledge to provide a specialist physiotherapy service. They will want to be part of a multi-agency team and must be able to manage new and interesting challenges on a daily basis. A driving license is essential as the service is regionwide and extensive travel will be required.

Dumfries and Galloway is a popular tourist area with scenic coastal & rustic landscapes, with close links to Ireland. It offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor and cultural activities including walking, cycling and sailing, Big Burns celebrations, Book & Art festivals. Glasgow, Carlisle and Edinburgh are easily accessiable via good road and train links.
