NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.   

The Chair of the Specialty Training Board (STB) for Medicine will be responsible for chairing the STB and reporting to/advising the Medical Directorate Executive Team (MDET) with regard to programme management, quality management, recruitment and selection and other strategic activities relevant to medical training in Scotland.
