Trainee Development and Wellbeing Service: Careers Lead Associate Postgraduate Dean
Hours: Part Time: 1 PA (4 hours per week)
Duration: Fixed Term for 3 years in the first instance*

The Scotland Deanery is recruiting to the role of Associate Postgraduate Dean: Careers Lead, Trainee Development and Wellbeing Service (TDWS). This is an exciting opportunity for an individual committed to our vision of delivering a holistic, accessible, and equitable trainee development and wellbeing service which empowers all doctors in training in Scotland to achieve their full potential.
The postholder will lead the Careers group within the TDWS and will also contribute to holistic trainee support alongside other TDWS colleagues. The TDWS, launched in 2022, offers a refreshed, expanded and streamlined portfolio of services for the >6000 doctors in training programmes in the Scotland Deanery. In addition to leading on strategic oversight of Careers services within the Scotland Deanery, the postholder will also represent the Deanery at a number of UK level Careers meetings. The role will support and be supported by an existing and expanding team of administrators and team members within the trainee support service structure.
The APGD should be a Consultant, General Practitioner or Career Grade Doctor and will be accountable to the Lead Dean/Director. They may also combine the role with other senior medical educator roles.
