This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Professional with an IT Security, Network or Infrastructure / Platform Technician background. The Cyber Security Engineers provide expertise, technical excellence and competence on all matters of Cyber / IT Security Technical Controls, Procedures and Standards in order to maintain a robust and resilient cyber security posture across the organisation.


You will join a small team of Cyber Security Technicians using a suite of specialist tools to ensure that NHS Fife achieves and maintains the assurance standards provided by NIS Regulations, Cyber Essentials and the CIS Controls.


The Cyber Security Team will offer direction on all Cyber Security controls for NHS Fife and collaborate with partner organisations on a range of complex and sensitive security issues, providing expert specialist technical skills and advice. You will assist and support the Cyber Security Manager and other Senior IT Management on ensuring that NHS Fife IT Security Procedures, Cyber Defence Tools and Configurations are mitigating the Cyber Security Operational Risks and reflect the latest Best Practice for a significant IT Estate.


You will be a team player with excellent work ethic, communication and organisational skills. You will be a true professional, able to show full discretion when taking part in sensitive forensic investigations. You will have the knowledge; skills and competencies typically gathered during the performance of an infrastructure, network or systems administrator type role or be a developing IT professional with demonstrable aptitude for this post. You will also have a very keen interest in IT Security technologies and techniques and be willing to develop professional networking with colleagues nationally.


You must be able to travel throughout Fife regularly and sometimes across Scotland as required.


A high level of English language competency and communication skills is necessary to perform this role safely and effectively.  Participation in a 24/7 on-call rota is required along with providing any relevant out of hours support required by the organisation.
