The Value Management Collaborative was launched in November 2019 and will complete in March 2022. The collaborative is working with 6 boards to test and spread an innovative model that supports clinical, care and finance teams to apply quality improvement methods with combined cost and quality data at team level to deliver improved patient outcomes, experience and value. The collaborative is led by Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) working in partnership with NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

A core intervention of Value Management is the bringing together of health and social care professionals across a range of disciplines including clinical care and financial management to access and use data to drive improvements in value.

To underpin this effort, we are seeking an experienced professional, working at Head of Management Accounting or equivalent. The postholder would be expected to have extensive knowledge of NHS board and national systems and stakeholders and will work with the national team providing leadership, advice and direction on the financial aspects of this work.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and positive individual with extensive subject knowledge to provide leadership on the development and delivery of this complex and emergent improvement agenda.

Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills will be fundamental to success in this role, particularly experience of effectively engaging diverse groups. It is important for candidates to have an ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
