Job Advert

National Services Division (NSD) plans funds and co-ordinates networks and national specialist and screening services on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates (SGHSCD).

Within NSD the National Bespoke Networks host a wide range of national clinical strategic networks. It provides consistent, high quality managerial leadership to enable networks to deliver their aims and objectives to standards and timescales mandated by Scottish Government. With our support, networks focus on what they are set up to achieve – adding value to healthcare providing a ‘Once for Scotland’ approach.

These are exciting times where NSD is being commissioned to implement further, bespoke networks following the success of the Scottish Trauma Network.

We are therefore seeking a number of experienced Programme Managers to join our team who will each have programme responsibility for the following individual networks –

Neonatal, the Prisoner Healthcare Network, Police Care and Care for Veterans.
(Preferences will be taken into consideration when appointing to each network)

The successful candidates will have responsibility for the effective planning, co-ordination and management of their allocated network and associated change projects, with evidence of success in team management and practical application of QI methodologies.
These roles require excellent skills in communication and managing change in complex and dynamic environments.

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, the post holder will join a team of staff based in Edinburgh who will drive forward the implementation of their network across Scotland.  You will work in collaboration with lead clinicians, network members and key stakeholders to enable the network to deliver its aims and objectives to standards set out in the mandate.

Applicants should be educated to degree level and should have a proven track record of leading and driving improvements in healthcare through effective use of recognised project and improvement methodologies. A clinical background in the relevant field is desirable.

The post requires excellent leadership, influencing, organisational skills and the ability to produce written work of the highest quality.

Networks include service users, health and other professionals from education, social care and voluntary organisations. Engaging with service users at this level requires the post holder to be able to nurture relationships across professional, organisational and geographical boundaries and commit to occasional out of hours work.

Frequent travel throughout Scotland is also required. A pool/hire car is available for business use.

For an informal discussion on the post, please contact Kate Burley, Programme Associate Director on 0131 275 7150. Interviews will be held in Edinburgh.

Please note that CVs are not acceptable and a fully completed application is a pre-requisite.
Closing date for completed applications is 19th June  2019
