We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and motivated speech and language therapist to join our well established and dynamic SLT team based in The Willows in Dumfries, a purposely redesigned multi disciplinary Children, Young People and Family Centre set in the beautiful grounds of the Crichton campus. This post offers an exciting opportunity to further develop and extend clinical skills with children and young people across a broad range of speech, language and communication difficulties providing a comprehensive service to both pre-school and school aged children in a variety of community settings. Our team has a strong commitment to working collaboratively with our families and partner agencies with a focus on skill sharing and tailoring support according to the needs of individuals and their families.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience in working with children and young people with speech, language and communication difficulties and an understanding of how to support children with additional support needs as well as experience of organising and managing complex caseloads.
Prevention and early intervention will be a high priority within the redesigned service of universal, targeted and individualised model of delivery.
The service is committed to ongoing service developments and actively encourages and supports personal and professional development.
Although the post is based at The Willows in Dumfries the post holder will work in a variety of community settings across the locality therefore access to a car is essential for the post.
Dumfries and Galloway is situated in the beautiful South West of Scotland with spectacular countryside, wide ranging leisure facilities, excellent schools and affordable housing. There are easy links to all the major cities in Scotland, North England and Northern Ireland.
