Clinical Technologist (Electronics Engineering), Band 6

Full-time (37.5 hours pw) , permanent, £30,401 to £38,046

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineering technician to join our team in the technology section of Oncology Physics. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the routine duties in the section, including linear accelerator maintenance, QA and repair. Good computing, communication and organisational skills are essential for the work involved and the ability to work under pressure is often required.
Minimum qualifications are a degree or HNC/HND with equivalent level of knowledge and experience in an electronics related engineering discipline. The candidate will have previous experience in an electronics related field and healthcare or radiation physics experience will be an advantage, but formal in-house training will be given. Consideration may be given to a less experienced person, employed under Annex21 arrangements.

**Applicants must be a member or eligible for registration onto the Register of Clinical Technologists or equivalent. Other suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply and training will be given. Annex 21 may apply.**

For trainees covered by Annex U where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:

  • up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
  • more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified;
  • more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
  • more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
