You will become part of a well established team working within the hospital environment of the Greater Glasgow NHS Acute Division as a key link between hospitals, community alcohol and drug recovery services, the voluntary sector and wider care providers. You will work under the supervision and guidance of a band 6 Senior  Addiction Nurse (Acute Liaison) delivering addiction education and ensuring a continuity of care with individuals who are experiencing problems relating to alcohol or drug use in the acute health care setting through to the community setting. Initiation of addiction treatment, continuation of existing treatment and through care will be a feature of the role and will also facilitate the development of competencies of acute hospital nurses within a good practice framework of alcohol brief intervention and care delivery across specialist addiction and acute health care setting including outpatient clinics and emergency departments under the guidance and supervision of a band 6 senior addiction nurse. You must be a Registered Nurse ( RMN or RGN)  with current NMC registration. You should have good communication skills and evidence of professional development with some knowledge of Alcohol and Drug related treatment and care. The post will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital though cover will be required on occasions in other Acute Hospital settings. Shift pattern will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
