Applications are welcomed from Advanced Nurse Practitioners or Advanced Paramedic Practitioners as we seek to expand our dynamic, friendly and cohesive team. We were the first Borders Practice to employ a Nurse Practitioner as far back as 2005. We have won a national award for our collaborative work with the Scottish Ambulance Service developing Paramedic Practitioner home visiting in 2016. We are looking to recruit to full time hours from April 2020 but a job share would be considered.
The role will be predominately based in the practice but may also involve some home visiting. It will involve high-level autonomous decision-making, including assessing, diagnosing and treating (including prescribing) for patients with complex multidimensional physical or mental health problems. The successful applicant would have the freedom and authority to request diagnostic investigations and interpret and analyse the results. Support from General Practitioners will always be on hand if required.
We seek applicants who are NMC or HCPC registered; have the relevant MSc /Postgraduate Diploma; and can work independently as non-medical prescriber. Recent experience in day time or out-of-hours General Practice is desirable.
Teviot Medical Practice has a list size of over 11,000 patients. Our clinical team includes General Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistant, Phlebotomist, Practice Based Pharmacist and occasionally Paramedic Practitioners. The Scottish Borders offers outstanding countryside steeped in history with some of the best walking and cycling in Scotland.
