Job Advert

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified physiotherapist to join the band 5 rotational programme. Rotations occur every 6 months through Community, Paediatrics, MSK, Acute Orthopaedics and Medical In-Patients including HDU.

The Physiotherapy team is fully engaged with progressing staff development through in service training, there is a vibrant band 5 support group once a month with ‘Flying Start’  and ‘Effective Practitioner’ being supported.

Community services are provided at Community Hospitals, in patients own homes, and in a variety of gyms, day centres and nursing homes. The community services are combined with the acute service to ensure seamless treatments without boundaries, and Moray has a tradition of innovation in this area.

Two In-Patient rotations take place within the acute hospital – Dr Gray’s – in Elgin, covering orthopaedics where Enhanced Recovery after joint surgery has been introduced, and Medical wards where coordinated working across unplanned Care is leading to exciting changes.

MSK services are provided at several locations across the Moray area, with Senior cover at all sites, and an Advanced Practitioner works at Dr Grays and supports the CPD in MSK.

Paediatric physiotherapy services are located in the specialist centre “Cherry tree” located in Elgin. The team provide services across Moray to support children with complex needs and MSK conditions. The team provide a mix of services, at schools, in children’s own homes and in a variety of specialist clinics.

The post is part of the ‘on call’ rota supplying a daytime weekend service to Dr Gray’s Hospital.

Moray HSCP is part of NHS Grampian. We also work closely with our colleagues within Grampian to ensure that strategies are developed over a wider geographical area.

Elgin, and the surrounding Moray County is a popular area to live in, with good transport links to nearby cities.
