As part of a multi-disciplinary team within the context of a Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team, you will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programmes of care. You will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals in line with agreed standards and clinical policies and without direct supervision. 

Participation in regular caseload supervision with a named Band 6 CPN, will be a critical aspect of the role.  Supervising the practice of, and demonstrating procedures to, student nurses and unqualified staff will be an important aspect of the role as will be the mentoring of nurses undergoing basic nurse training.  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC and that you have evidence of a post basic professional development and evidence of effective leadership skills commensurate with the Band 5 role.  The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 9.00am -5.00pm.
