To work with Clinical Psychologists and Nurse Therapists in the Psychological Therapies team to provide a coordinated Psychological Therapies service to patients in the Orchard Clinic and ensure clinical governance of psychological therapies.

To work as part of a multi-disciplinary service, providing, developing and managing matched stepped care clinical interventions for patients with complex mental illnesses, personality problems or difficulties related to traumatic stress in a medium secure forensic setting.

To lead the provision of low intensity psychological therapy groups across the Orchard Clinic, in collaboration with the Professional Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the Forensic Psychology Service.

To provide clinical supervision to nurse therapists.

To direct and facilitate the training and experience of nurse therapists, mental health nurses and others in the Orchard Clinic in psychological/psychologically informed interventions in collaboration with the Professional Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the forensic psychology service.

To carry out audit, QI, policy and service development, and Research and Development (R&D) activities and programmes within the Orchard Clinic and forensic estate as called upon to do so.

To provide consultation, support, and advice to multi-disciplinary staff in order to support the delivery of best possible recovery-focused care.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
