With a total budget of £3.1 billion and a workforce of 39,000 staff we deliver local, regional and national acute and primary health care services.  We are now looking to appoint a clinical risk manager who will have a key leadership role in delivering the healthcare quality strategy and its governance arrangements within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will hold a key leadership role for developing, implementing and evaluating a range of clinical risk policies and strategies, managing the work of their team and in providing expert advice on clinical risk management strategy to support the Board and key partners in delivering safe and reliable systems and processes. Championing improvement in clinical safety by ensuring lessons learned following incident investigation and analysis will be key within this role. Providing expert advice to clinical services on the planning and evaluation of improvement projects and the development of education programmes and training on clinical safety and risk will also be significant within this role.  You will provide a high level expertise and understanding of various components of clinical risk (person-centred, effective, safe care) a key focus of the role will be to ensure diligent management of the clinical risk team whilst building effective relationships with service Directors and Clinical leads.   This role requires political awareness allied to well-developed technical knowledge and practice to maintain an organizational influence that will positively develop our ability to sustainably deliver high quality care. You should be able to demonstrate continuous learning and experience of successfully managing a strategically focused team within complex multi-stakeholder environments.  If you are confident you can meet the challenges of this rewarding role then we would welcome your application.  You should have a First Level Degree or equivalent experience (both technical experience and well grounded in clinical culture).  You should have post-graduate specialist professional qualification that confirms in depth theoretical knowledge of Risk Management, Quality or related field e.g. Diploma in Risk Management, or evidence of equivalent in applied experience. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday (office hours).
