This is a fixed term post for 12 months.



This position is for a Child and Adolescent Therapist working within a NES funded psychology project entitled ‘Training in Psychological Skills’ (TIPS).


This post is based at Templeton Business Centre and there are options for agile working.  The post will involve delivering training and skills coaching to the wider children’s workforce, eg teachers, school nurses, third sector workers. An element of travel is inherent in this post, across the full Health Board area.


This is a varied and exciting post which will provide a wealth of service development opportunities in addition to delivering and developing training and providing skills coaching sessions to multi-agency groups. A main focus of the role will be providing training and ongoing skills coaching support to professionals trained to deliver an anxiety management intervention, ‘LIAM’, to children and young people across GG&C. There is also opportunity to be creative and develop and evaluate new ideas.


You will be required to have a psychology Degree and understanding and experience of applied psychology within the NHS.  You need to have experience of working psychologically with children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families and of delivering psychological assessments and interventions.


You will be supervised by a Principal Clinical Psychologist and line managed by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.


You will join a group of 70-80 Child and Adolescent Therapists & Psychologists, in NHSGGC, working with children and young people in a variety of settings with good professional support and supervision, plus strong working relationships with other disciplines and agencies.


There are also regular opportunities to meet with a supportive group of psychologists working on the Early Intervention TIPS project across .


The service has strong links both with the of in Clinical Psychology and the in Applied Psychology for Children and Adolescents.



The hours of this post are worked Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
