An opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Safety Practitioner to join a newly formed Health & Safety Team within NHS Tayside. You will take a key role in the management of health and safety systems, supporting the development, delivery and effectiveness of health and safety across the organisation.
You should hold Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH) and/or hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or a relevant related degree. Good knowledge and understanding of relevant UK Safety legislation is essential, as is the ability to be tenacious and promote best practice across NHS Tayside. Persuading and influencing skills are also essential to support and facilitate a change in attitude of managers and staff.
You should have experience of providing health and safety advice and technical support within a large and complex organisation and have the capability of working independently with key stakeholders as well as working as part of a team. You should be prepared to be flexible in your approach and motivated to ‘do the right thing’ within a busy, care driven environment.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
