Are you a pharmacist keen to develop your clinical pharmacy and prescribing skills in a forward thinking and supportive environment? The cancer pharmacist team in NHS Forth Valley are an integral part of non-medical prescribing clinics five days per week across a variety of tumour types.  We are looking for a pharmacist to join our team as a secondment or fixed term to cover the existing post holder’s maternity leave.

An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our pharmacy team.   The successful candidate will aid in the delivery and development of the clinical pharmacy service to inpatient haematology and to oncology/haematology outpatients. This role has a fixed commitment to oncology/haematology, with the opportunity to contribute to contribute to service developments both locally and as part of the West of Scotland Cancer Network. Specialist knowledge of this patient group is desirable but comprehensive training will be provided.

We are looking for a specialist practitioner with the necessary level of therapeutic knowledge, practical skills and diverse experience to provide high quality patient-centred care. Good team working and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to effectively contribute to service development, ensuring the continued success and response of our service to the changing, and challenging, healthcare environment. A pharmacist prescribing qualification is desirable but not essential.

Forth Valley Royal Hospital Pharmacy Department is a state of the art purpose built facility. The department and hospital are progressive, embracing electronic and robotic solutions including HEPMA, and strive to deliver high quality pharmacy services.  

Participation in on-call, weekend and late night rotas is expected of this post holder.

Both Stirling and Falkirk are within 40 minutes of Edinburgh and Glasgow and are provided with good road and rail links.
