Specialty Doctor in Haematology
NHS Lanarkshire, primary base University Hospital Monklands
Applications are invited for the role of Specialty doctor in Haematology within NHS Lanarkshire. Out-patient and day unit clinics in Haematology to review and assess new patients, assessing patients ahead of chemotherapy, and reviewing those already on oral chemotherapy are an integral part of the job. The post holder will also be responsible for haematology patients attending the day unit for blood product support and non-chemotherapy treatments as well as emergency assessment and care of patients self-referring with neutropenic sepsis / complications of chemotherapy. Prior experience in haematology would be desirable. There will be opportunity to be involved in teaching and laboratory work if desired.
Weekend working is based at Ward 16, Monklands Hospital, and includes a ward round of Haematology in-patients with the on-call Haematology Consultant. The hours of work are 9am-1pm Saturday and Sunday, 1 in 4 weekends.
