Training Programme Director for Public Health (Consultant in Public Health/Consultant in Public Health Medicine)

Hours: 6 hours per week (1.5 PA’s)
Salary: If the successful candidate is from a medical background, they will be remunerated under the Medical & Dental Consultant salary scales. If the successful candidate is from a non-medical background, they will be remunerated under Agenda for Change Band 8D.
Duration: 3 years in the first instance*

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The Training Programme Director for Public Health (Scotland Deanery) will be responsible for managing specialty training programmes for Trainees holding the following appointments: specialty registrar (ST); and locum appointments for training (LATs).
The TPD should be a Consultant in Public Health Medicine/Consultant in Public Health and is accountable to the Lead Dean/Director for General Practice, or appropriate Associate Dean. They may also combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor.
