Applications are invited for these positions which will offer the successful applicant(s) a unique combination of teaching and scholarly development hosted within NHS Lothian linking also to our partners in the University of Edinburgh Medical School and NHS Education for Scotland.
The successful candidate(s) will be tasked and supported to enhance the educational environment within NHS Lothian for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees and the multiprofessional team.
Working within an innovative team and in association with the Director of Medical Education, the post holders will take lead roles in supporting and developing our educational environment including; simulation based education; foundation programme development; UG educational capacity building & faculty development. The postholders will also be supported to enhance their understanding and practical skills aligned to clinical safety and systems improvement.
The posts would be ideal for candidates who have previous training within a hospital based specialty and wish to develop a special interest in medical education and educational research, potentially looking to pursue a Consultant appointment within a Teaching Hospital.
This is a whole time position based on a 40 hour week appointment and the salary is in accordance with the nationally agreed salary scales on a pro rata basis.
