The Capacity & Flow Team is a dedicated team of senior nurses who provide highly skilled and professional support in directing patient flow across the acute division, including the role of clinical site management in the out of hours period.  

Clinical site management
• To provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership, direction, advice and support to all nursing staff across the acute division maintaining high standards of nursing care
• Senior manager on site on night duty for Victoria Hospital

Clinical co-ordination
• To support patient flow to ensure timely bed availability, admission, discharge, transfer and appropriate placement of patients across Emergency and Planned Care
• Senior manager on site on night duty for Victoria Hospital


This is an exciting and rewarding role for individuals who want to make a significant contribution to the delivery of hospital site management ensuring the patients reach the right service at the right time and apply skills and knowledge to ensure demand and capacity issues are resolved within the context of patient safety/patient experience. The clinical coordinator role is significant in the management of acute beds and will work closely with primary care colleagues promoting patient flow to downstream hospitals as well as managing transfer to and from tertiary centers. You will support professionally all nursing staff to ensure patient centered quality care is at the forefront and provide effective leadership and expert clinical support.

The successful candidate will be an experienced first level nurse who can demonstrate effective leadership and competencies. This level of experience is normally associated with significant post registration experience with a demonstrable focus on high standards of quality and patient centered care delivery.

This rewarding post requires excellent interpersonal and decision making skills and you must be able to work autonomously and possess highly developed communication skills.
